Fire Event Monitoring Capability Announced
09 February 2012
Absolute Fire Solutions and TracPlus Global are pleased to
announce support for AFS FAST Trac data-logging units within
TracPlus's tracking service. This development allows crucial
airborne fire fighting event information to be integrated and
presented within a single common operating picture provided by
TracPlus.
As part of the Australian Fire Aircraft Monitoring System
(AFAMS), Australian fire agencies will be able to seamlessly
monitor load volumes, drop volumes and splits, location of drops
and fills, as well as vertical distance from fill to drop, and
course and speed over ground at drop.
"The importance of Australian firefighting agencies being able to
access event information in real-time cannot be overstated." said
Stuart Campbell, CEO of TracPlus Global. "The National Aerial
Firefighting Centre (NAFC) has set the standard in terms of
establishing a national integration program that allows national
and state agencies to see a single common picture of all airborne
firefighting operations. This capability adds a new level of depth
and detail to that picture, and TracPlus is proud to be the
integration provider making that happen."
Added Steve Matthews, AFS President "In Australia, due to the
widespread support of our client base there, NAFC and its client
agencies are now able to view data on S-64, S-61, Bell 212, Bell
205, and AS350 series aircraft operating different bucket types and
belly tanks, from within their TracPlus access. They can also
export this data into reports and mapping files which show the
intensity of the support they have provided to local communities as
an incident progresses."
FAST Trac is an STC'd event logging system which converts analog
or digital inputs into data packages that can be transmitted over
almost all approved SATCom or AFF systems, as well as some cellular
networks. The system is capable of monitoring bucket gates,
belly tanks, load cells, application and spreading systems and
ETM/HUMS systems to produce either onboard data or near real time
data which can take the form of alerts, or which can be viewed on
the web.
TracPlus Global provides a mission critical platform upon which
emergency services, first responders, government agencies and
private corporations can quickly and easily share real time global
tracking of critical assets (aircraft, helicopters, vehicles,
vessels and personnel) with each other to create a common, shared
view of any situation where people are operating in harm's
way. TracPlus enables operators to choose tracking systems
that best meet their specific requirements (regardless of
manufacturer or tracking provider) without compromising their
ability to easily and securely participate in hastily formed
collaborative networks for emergency management and response, or to
meet contractual requirements for tracking and occupational safety
and health.
